Just in case anyone needs anything else to worry about we have this now...

Quote:
“We found in the first 5,449 patients admitted, 36.6% developed acute kidney injury,” Kenar Jhaveri, associated chief of nephrology at Hofstra/Northwell and co-author of the study published in the journal Kidney International on Thursday, said in a statement.

Doctors have also found links between COVID-19 and a variety of other conditions, including vitamin deficiency, blood clots, and it’s also known to have devastating effects on the lungs, intestines, and the heart. All told, a picture is starting to emerge of a ferocious, unpredictable illness that can attack organ systems across the body.

I believe the virus was found and reported as a warning in the USA in late 2019 AND in France too I think. I posted the links to the first some time ago on this thread.

So Peter Daszak is going apesh|t on Twitter, launching a disingenuous, pseudo-scientific assault on the recent pre-print released by Alina Chan's lab at MIT.

https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...262v1.full.pdf

For reference, here are Ralph Baric's mentioned Civet S-protein adaptation papers:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18579604/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18094188/

Peter Daszak is a private grant writing coordinator, who grifts off the NIH, NIAID, and USAID via grants he helps to acquire. He is essentially a story teller, whose current, best, more lucrative story is crumbling around him as he desperately tries to maintain the illusion that this SARSCoV2 is a natural zoonotic event he's been predicting for decades, rather than a product of the research he has been shadily funding for those decades.

Rally to Alina Chan's support on Twitter, Facebook, and elsewhere. Make sure she knows that we all support independent scientists, allowed to interpret their results as they will. They should be allowed to write what they want as well. Peter has made a concerted effort to attack this pre-print and it's authors on social media, in an attempt to discredit this work. His deep conflicts of interest in this field should disqualify him from participating in this public discourse.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology was given permission to engage in experimental research involving highly-pathogenic viruses, just 10 days before the first recorded case of covid19.

Their level 3 laboratory, where Shi Zhengli is director, had just been given permission by the Chinese Government to conduct even riskier experiments on 7 November 2019.

This was 10 days before the South China Morning Post cites the first recorded case of covid19 on 17 November, and weeks before the outbreak of the pandemic. The new level of research is confirmed in 3 documents, including a statement from the director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology: “Wuhan National Biosafety (Level 3) laboratory was officially qualified for experimental activities, and has the ability and conditions to carry out experimental activities of highly pathogenic microorganisms”.

A separate document from the Chinese Academy of Sciences also states: “On 7 November 2019, the National Health Commission formally approved the Wuhan National Institute of Biological Safety (Level 3) Laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences to engage in experimental activities of highly pathogenic pathogenic microorganisms.

“The application has undergone data review, and on-site evaluation and demonstration, and approved the activity qualification.” Shi Zhengli is the vice-chairwoman of the level 4 laboratory, as well as the director of the level 3 laboratory. It is understood that most coronavirus research takes place in level 3 laboratories. The order meant the laboratory could start to engage in more experimental activities with “highly pathogenic microorganisms”, such as the “Ebola virus, Niba virus, Marburg virus, Lassa fever virus… the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Bacillus anthracis, and the tick-borne encephalitis virus.”

While not suggesting that the laboratory is responsible, in anyway, for the outbreak, the director of China’s Centre for Disease Control, Gao Fu, told Chinese state media that the wet market played a role in spreading the virus, but it was not the origin of the outbreak.

“At first, we assumed the seafood market might have the virus, but now the market is more like a victim,” he told the Global Times. He said samples collected from animals in the market in early January did not contain traces of the virus. “The novel coronavirus had existed long before.”

He covers most of the currently known reasons why it originated from a lab, while also noting:

-- the reason why covid19 spreads far more easily indoors is because it was made indoors.

-- natural viruses have very little to no asymptomatic expressions.

-- the "missing phase" in the evolution of this virus... when a virus jumps from one species to another, it is not well-positioned for rapid spread among the new species... all of the characteristics of this virus are precisely the kind needed when someone is trying to create a broad spectrum vaccine.

-- denial/dismissal of lab origin is done for two reasons: admitting that it escaped from a lab would bring great scrutiny to all gain-of-function research, and likely loss of research funding; admitting that it escaped from a lab would make the CCP liable for all the death & financial catastrophe that the world has experienced.

1. Many viruses spread more easily indoors, including colds (some caused by coronaviruses) and flu.

2. Viral infections are commonly asymptomatic.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6518513/

"More than half of the RSV, adenovirus, PIV, CoV [coronavirus] and HRV infections documented here were asymptomatic according to all definitions."

About 90% of polio is asymptomatic.

3. If the virus cannot spread it will die out. There would be no new and emerging viral diseases if they were not "well-positioned for rapid spread".

4. If it had escaped from a lab the most likely first cases would be in lab personnel. That is what happened with previous SARS-1 escapes. That is actually the most favorable scenario for isolation and control. If you work in a lab that handles potentially deadly viruses and you come down with symptoms of one of those viruses, it will be investigated ASAP, while you are quarantined.

The story goes that the wet market was the story released to cover for the lab (WCDC Wuhan Center for Disease Control) that is within 240 meters of the wet market.

A group of researchers in alleged secret WCDC lab are attacked by Chinese horseshoe bats which serve as natural reservoirs for the SARS-coronavirus. There are no populations of Chinese horseshoe bats within 900 km of Wuhan, except in labs.

Chinese people are very into saving face, so to blame a nearby wet market, as opposed to blaming communist government research facility, is plausible.

There is a second lab about 12 km from the Wuhan wet market. It is said to belong to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, is classified as P4, which is the highest level of biosafety.

I live in a Chinese neighborhood in the US. They are still close enough to China to send their teenagers to China for a Summer or longer so they can get to know where their parents and grandparents are from, and meet family that is still in China. Get exposure to their ancestors culture.

People in my neighborhood always start wearing face masks in time for Flu season. This year they started wearing them about a month or so before Flu season was declared. I noticed. It seemed odd.

It wouldn't be odd to get word to your relatives in the US that there is a problem headed their way.
