It may better to be alone. An alien civilization that has the technology to travel millions of light years to our world may view humankind as so primitive and unworthy that they might exterminate us in the same way we rid ourselves of insects and pests.
Millions of light years would put them well outside of the boundaries of the Milky Way. Are they coming from the Andromeda galaxy? There would be far better places to colonize then, that are a lot closer to home.

He was just taking advantage of the timing, when those records had to be declassified by law, in reality, they would have been released, even if Hillary had won the election.
the time limit on their secrecy was approaching, it had to happen by law.
Besides that, its not like they contained any huge bombshells though, the CIA and FBI won their case, and some parts of the JFK file remain classified to this day.

They are either in the depths of the ocean, deep underground, or some other 'location' that is inaccessible to humans.

I understand, but it’s my call. I have family spouting politics on both sides and I’m very tired of it.
I think Roswell is like the Wonka Factory for elite scientists that are granted extra clearance privileges to research and test their ideas for military technology, drone innovation and other aeronautical projects. What they have there is top secret because it is 10 or more years ahead of anything people have seen yet.
It is probably not like some alien workshop like many people envision. It is more of a specialized military and technology lab.
I doubt many have access to these secret facilities, or they are limited in what they can see.
Its a bit strange though, this is 2020 now, the Roswell event happened in 1947!!
Even if it was an extraterrestrial aircraft...its still ANCIENT, I can only assume their technology has progressed far beyond the craft from that incident, look at US aircraft technology now compared to 1947...why would the aliens be any different?
President Trump's administration has been the most transparent in our lifetimes. I believe that he'll provide complete information before he leaves office.

Seriously though If any POTUS was going to release what we have on Roswell it would probably be Trump he does like to shake things up. My guess is JFK will be more interesting. I do believe there are elements we are not aware of. Roswell, not so sure.
I suspect they will try to claim to be our creators, and/or that the human race was created to be a 'slave race' originally, or something along those lines. I don't think it will be a lovey dovey, positive spiritual type event.
I disagree. Any beings that have the capability for interstellar travel will have evolved beyond those petty mindsets.
You know how we have aquariums setup for fish and small insects? That's what I believe we are to the aliens that are considered "watchers" of humans. They've setup this dimension for us to live to watch us. It maybe possible that we are the only intelligent life in this universe setup by them. We know from physics that it's impossible for humans to travel at the speed of light without our molecules heating up and disintegrating. For an intelligent life to travel from far regions of space over here requires understanding beyond the physics of this dimension. And it is possible that in our dimension the physics are preset but those from other dimensions may have different laws of physics and our dimension is just like an aquarium setup by other intelligent beings.
All the sciences today seems to dictate that humans did not just evolve from microbes. The likelihood of DNA mutations from simple organism into higher forms are less likely without intelligent interference.
All of our ancestors believe in divine beings and they've described all kinds of meetings and these elaborate stories of how God created these events or guided humans. These are all meetings with ETs that are not from this earth. If not, it had to be a great great Shepard story for someone to come up. Many ancient civilizations like Egyptians and Sumerians built huge statues and cities to worship the sky Gods and they all believe created humans.
