Other than the lawnmower noise you heard, I experienced something similar out of the pure blue, (but definitely don't believe it's anything paranormal).

Quick background: I "seemed" to have developed allergic asthma in 2017 when I turned 42, even though I never ever had any kind of respiratory or sinus issue, so this is all new to me. Haven't used inhalers (emergency nor steroid type) in about the last year before this occurrence because my breathing's been good.

What happened: I think I had my 1st asthma or panic attack in Aug 2018...never knew what it was & when I told my dr later, she couldn't say either.

I was breathing pretty frantically out of the blue w/ my mouth open for a while, heart racing, etc. Believe it or not, I chose to ride it out here at home & not go to the ER (health ins not effective till Sept 1st), but did get dressed though in case I had to walk out the door.

The very scary thing was...I was just sitting here at the computer calmly when my breathing started getting bad. I haven't dusted/vacuumed in a while...maybe all the dust in here caught up with me even though I keep windows, fans, and air purifiers on as much as I can. OK, yes, I guess dust is ALL around me!

I then thought about what I ate the previous day & it was fried fish and chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with some various dipping sauces. BUT I didn't eat late at all in the day, then go to sleep. (I have no severe food allergies. It's probably at the mildest level it could be.)

Also, for about the previous few wks, I've brought out this floor fan & been using it to keep cool, so maybe it's been stirring up too much dust around here lately. And I sit against a wall when I'm on my computer, so it's like the dust is stuck and I'm right in there with it with the dust being swooshed around.

MY GOD THAT WAS SCARY!!!!! I was praying while trying to stay calmly seated. After about about 1 - 1.5 hrs, I was back to normal.
I never said I thought it was 'paranormal' in nature...its mysterious and unexplained (to me).

I did go over there yesterday, but it was kind of a bust, I had completely forgotten to factor in this was the day after July 4th, and for some reason, people around here went totally NUTS with fireworks this year!

The guy is actually on vacation with his family now too, so he wasnt home. I pulled my car around to the back and sat outside for a couple hours, Once I saw how many fireworks were being set off, I knew this was going to be a waste of time.

Im going to try and go back sometime later this week, maybe this weekend. Hopefully people will have stopped with the fireworks by then!

Your 4th July must be something like Chinese New Year with the fireworks but here the government has kind-of stopped most of the fireworks from being set off, so there are very few these days. A few years ago, there were loads and loads.

Any wild animal will be hiding deep underground I would think or at least far far away from the city people letting off their fireworks.

Oh yes, this year was MUCH different in regards to fireworks, its like everyone was setting off the big mortar type fireworks! One of my neighbors thought it was because everyone was sick of seeing all the patriot bashing thats going on right now, and they all decided to let loose with the fireworks.

They cancelled all the fireworks displays, but I guess people just bought their own and did it in their backyards and driveways. I went outside here a couple times, and I counted 12 people on my street alone, that were setting off the BIG commercial grade fireworks (mortars).

Thankfully its raining here tonight.

If it was me I would want to get tested for C19. I would have demanded it. Otherwise I would be in the back of my mind, could I have it? Hope all is better soon. Sounds like a scary experience.

I have had severe asthma since I was 6 months old. 53 years of asthma. My take. You likely were starting to have trouble breathing (asthma) and subconsciously started to panic. What ensued was a asthma attach made 50 X more severe my panic. The whooshing blade sound was your blood coursing through your veins. Very common in a panic attack.
The biggest battle for asthmatics is to stay calm during an attack. This is why attacks are so severe in young children. They don't have relaxation tools to help them stay calm. The most life changing thing for me was at the age of 12 my parents found a specialist who did an entire workshop on breathing technique and relaxation. Learning to calm your breathing down before ever needing intervention. Believe it or not the best way to do this is to hold your breath to "restart" your breathing pattern. Slowing holding your breath for as long as possible initially followed by slow rhythmic breathing and keep doing the technique until you can hold your breath for 10 seconds. Hold breathe for a minute hold breathe for a minute etc. I would recommend you talk to a specialist who can direct you to a class for breathing technique.

The one and only panic attack I ever had, I swear that I could hear the blood in my veins. I was like a whooshing, rhythmic roaring sound in my head. I was in a place where there should have been no sound near me, so I know it was inside my head. It was like my ears could hear my carotid arteries pumping blood. Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh with the pounding of my heart in my chest. I realized what the attack was, and why it occurred, and calmed myself.

I think your asthma was causing you to become hypoxic and it might have panicked you, or maybe it was just plain old hypoxia making you feel faint. I once fainted, and just before I blacked out I had paranoid thoughts and a bit of hallucinations. So the sound might have been an auditory hallucination.

Its not something I want to hear again.
