To capture on film any humanoid cryptid, we need 2 cameras, one pointing at the other because it has the intelligence to avoid the first camera and sometimes even moves or disables it.
If we always use 2 cameras, one pointing at the other, we would see this cryptid in the second camera which was messing with the first camera. Yes, I know it is twice as expensive to buy and deploy 2 cameras, but it would sort out the circumstance where BF is evading us and our game cameras.
Maybe it would be a good idea to hang something strange in the view of the camera too, so that he might be distracted to look at that strange thing. Perhaps some small toy bells which tinkle in the wind? Maybe a bright colored piece of cloth? Just something which causes BF to focus on that rather than the camera for a while, long enough for the camera to catch him on film.
Ive always thought placing them higher up in the trees, (angled down), would be the best way to keep anything from tampering with the camera.
...and you would probably find that BF can climb trees too. You still only have one camera, however high it is and if BF wanted to 'investigate' then he WOULD climb the tree to get at it. They have been reports of BF-type things in trees, but not many.

There was one video of supposedly a juvenile swinging from trees next to an interstate highway. It looked more like a plastic sheet blowing in the wind, that we would use to make trailer doors waterproof, and that you can see many times along side our busy roads. Of course the video was so poor it was hard to know for sure what we were looking at.

They probably can climb trees, but what are the chances they are going to know a trail cam is mounted high in a tree? If someone hides it well enough, it would be tough to spot from the ground, even for a Sasquatch...
Of course, they may have 'supernatural abilities', that alert them to a camera being in the area, and tells them right where its at?!! LOL (just kidding btw)
I have said this before, but I believe they(BF) may be able to see into the infrared spectrum and also I believe that most electronic circuits have an oscillator in them which some animals may be able to hear - or at least a lower harmonic of the oscillating frequency. If it is as I suspect, then the IR leds used by the game cam would be like a floodlight when they switched on to photograph an animal and that in itself would draw attention to it half way up a tree.
For example, there are little flies which I am sure are attracted by my computer screen 'whining' or oscillating. It could be a rate at which they flap their wings or something else, or may be just an impression I get and it may not be this at all.

If they were alerted by our newest technology trail cameras that make vey little noise, they would have been alerted to the old camera that P&G used back in 1967. All of this talk about their supernatural abilities and no evidence to prove they have any such ability. Of course, we have no evidence that any of them exist!
