Do a Google Earth look at the area around Austin Tx. The woods are very limited and you can say the same for most of TX. Of course TX is a huge state. The distance from Texarkana to Brownsville is 722 miles! So there are many places for one to hide, just not in large forested areas.
Of course you know my opinion on reports like this one. It is second hand information without any way to verify the report. They want hits on their YouTube video. I don't want to see an artist's sketch of what a bolder looks like on a roof, I want to see the bolder and the damage it caused.

Haven't watched the video (I gave up after 30 seconds of the cheesy cartoon presentation - can't stand that sort of thing), but most of the TX reports as I understand it come from the Big Thicket area northeast of Galveston - not in the Austin area. Which is a relatively wild part of the state - there have been reports of Ivory Billed Woodpeckers in the Big Thicket in the past. But it's not the million acre wilderness it was before the loggers got to it.

In the Austin area wilderness is limited and that is why I made the comment. I do know that they have problems with feral pigs that seem to hide pretty good. Texas is a large State.

Josh Turner is the host of Paranormal Round Table podcast, he got his start on 'Vic Cundiffs Dogman Encounters', and ever since he has grown an immense list of followers, he is very good at telling stories, he has been collecting supernatural, paranormal, cryptid encounters from people he meets thru out his life, its sort of a hobby for him. He also had his own Dogman encounter when he was 15yrs old.
He grew up in Taylor, TX.
The most recent episode, he talks about this specific ranch in TX, where Dogmen have been a huge problem for the owners, for decades, the story is very interesting
You should listen to the episode, he calls it the 'Hernandaz ranch'.

There is a Hermandaz Ranch just south of San Antonio TX in the little town of Elmendorf. There is very little forest surrounding the place. Where is one of these creatures going to hide? Use the Google Earth program and you will see what I am talking about. If you zoom in close enough, before you enter 'street view', you can spot animals the size of a cow or horse. Here is one small herd I spotted checking over some of the terrain in Texas. Go to 30 degrees 59'13.68"N and 99 degrees15'26.03"W.

Hernandaz is not the real name of the ranch...they do not use real names of people or places on the podcast (for obvious reasons).
Id have to listen again, but I think they do mention the general area of this ranch, and according to them, there are dense sections of forests in the area.
It would be interesting to know the history of the house, and immediate area. It seems like a lot of paranormal happenings are associated with tragic events of the past.

You see these are variables. In the last post I mentioned the Hernandez Ranch I found in Texas. One could say they have dense sections of forest, but it is very limited and surrounded by farms. So the meaning of 'dense' could vary.
All of these links are only stories without the information needed to prove those stories. See how far this kind of information gets you in a court of law! The judge would laugh you out of the courtroom if you tell the court you can't reveal the names or places.
