For anyone who does not believe the government has been investigating and using Remote Viewing for over 25 years, check this out.
Project Stargate was the CIA and military project which used Remote Viewing(RV) to help find information on foreign country's secret programs. It was the basis for the book "The Men Who Stare at Goats" by Jon Ronson and the film of the same name.
Remote Viewing is leaving your body in one place and 'viewing' details from another. Developed in Stanford Research Institute by Hal Puthoff and Russell Targ, they used Ingo Swann as the initial subject for their PSI experiments. From that series of experiments, they developed a manual from which practically anyone could be taught how to RV.
There is a load of FOIA CIA Project Stargate information available as of Dec 2020.

The Stargate Project was the umbrella code name of one of several sub-projects established by the U.S. Federal Government to investigate claims of psychic phenomena with potential military and domestic applications, particularly “remote viewing”: the purported ability to psychically “see” events, sites, or information from a great distance.
These projects were active from the 1970s through 1995 and were primarily handled by the DIA and CIA. They followed up early psychic research done at The Stanford Research Institute (SRI), Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), The American Society for Psychical Research, and other psychical research labs.

IF that was true wouldn't we all be able to RV? It was just another program that several people made a lot of cash from and the subject of the experiments never worked.

One of the physicists, who participated in the experiment went public about it long ago. (Maybe it was Russell Targ.) The government used physicists, who felt they had psychic gifts. In several instances, they were able to do rough drawings of structures inside secret facilities in Siberia, but the results weren't anything spectacular.

The way I see it, I dont buy that these projects were totally unsuccessful, there were just too many of them, and they went for too long, and considering how often our Govt has been proven liars, it wouldnt surprise me if these projects are going on today...
When you think about the nature of these abilities, it seems likely the Govt would lie about the details (publicly)...I doubt our leaders would want the average citizen knowing these kinds of abilities are attainable! (such abilities could be used against the US Govt).
At the end of the day, our govt relies heavily on keeping the general public UNDER CONTROL

No, the government did not, it was a research project at SRI and the government mainly got involved because they were afraid the Russians were going to develop psychic spying before they did. At that stage we already knew the Russians were investigating all this psi stuff and the USA did not want to be left behind.
So who judges if the results are spectacular or even useful or not? Are you in the intelligence community? Are any of us in a position to say whether the results are useful or not?
I would doubt the results have to be spectacular in any way, but if they were useful in the collection of information on foreign secret installations, then that would be enough to make it worthwhile.
Why would the government use this for over 25 years when it doesn't give them leads to use in their intelligence gathering?
I can think of many reasons why we are not encouraged to learn this. One of which may be because "secrets" are no longer secret if you can see inside filing cabinets or secure buildings. Another may be that time and space mean nothing if there are folks who can perform Remote Viewing.
Bearing in mind that this was developed by scientists, you can bet the instructions are not full of woo and airy-fairy procedures but a step-by-step protocol which can be used by anyone. Of course, you get people of varying degrees of skill in every discipline and this is no different, but if you have enough people learning this skill, then there are going to be outstanding ones as well as pretty dismal attempts too.

And we can ALL do it. But probably only if we attempt to do it with serious effort like any other skill we wish to learn. If we sit on our backsides and bleat we cannot do it without trying, then of course nothing will come of it.

Remote viewing was just a legal fantasy. They were hoping to create a mystique that would hold up in court. Never happened because it was all a load of bull and nobody bought it. Hope was a remote viewer could pretend to see where a bomb (for instance) was hidden in some bombers house, and that viewing could be used to get a search warrant. Nonsense. All of it complete nonsense.

Old news to me. Russians used it along with "psychic espionage." I have books on it by Courtney Brown. The military certainly used it on other nations and to peer into elements of the government with ties to extraterrestrial beings. I have books Alien Agenda and Cosmic Voyage.

Yes, the government did. The CIA had a project.

And THIS is what I was refuting. It was NOT the physicists who were the subjects in the experiments, but the artist Ingo Swann was the man they recruited as the one they were going to study and who worked with them to develop the RV protocol.

Phenomena: The Secret History of the U.S. Governments Investigations into Extrasensory Perception and Psychokinesis by Annie Jacobson is a good read about the activities.
I've tried to use it to see lottery numbers to no avail
