As noted, this bill doesn't authorize killing one, just trapping it. With all the Bigfoot hunters already out there, both cryptozoologists and amateur, why not have a means for the state to make a few bucks off it?
Besides, he tourists would definitely get a kick out of getting an official "license" from the state, suitable for framing of course.
I actually think it's a good thing. Aside from the tounge in cheek humor, it also protects the creatures as there would be laws on the books about legally taking one, so someone that shot one could be held legally liable for poaching.
I've never seen one myself, but there was one time after 2 weeks in hunting camp where I did encounter a large, hairy, foul smelling, angry creature with red eyes that screamed loudly in the night, but it turned out to be my hunting partner when he stepped on a pinecone with a bare foot in a trip to the outhouse in the dark.

IF not too expensive I would buy one of the licenses to display as a cool novelty item.

I suppose it all moves us towards a scientific expedition to study these things and find out more about them, so it might be a good thing after all.

Listening to a podcast by Paranormal Round Table yesterday (Hosted by Josh Turner of TX), his guest has lived on Native American indian reservations his whole life...he claims ALL Sasquatches are actually 'skinwalkers'.
I could understand that theory to some degree, but Sasquatch are reported nearly everywhere, even in places that are not close to an Indian Reservation, not sure how he would explain this.

COUNTLESS posses and groups have went out hunting Bigfoot since the 1800s...NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS SUCCEEDED!!!
Those that are lucky enough to get a glimpse of these things, are those NOT out looking for it.

Or has anybody produced one piece of evidence that any of them are real!

On the other hand, it might actually turn Bigfoot into an aggressive creature rather than one who just defends his territory. If he realises that people are coming for him and his family, then he might just fight back and kill anyone he sees walking in his area.
Also of course, we know there are other large hairy things out there which are not Bigfoot, so there is a huge range of 'Bigfoot' which the law could be referring to, not just the one we know as Bigfoot.
What I am saying is that going out to trap a relatively non-aggressive Bigfoot is totally different to going out to trap a totally aggressive Dogman, for example. They are probably different beasts and with totally different characteristics and abilities as we have seen from the witness reports.

We have no idea because none of it was recorded in real time. They did the best they could do with what they had and passed down these stories from one generation to another. But we have no idea how much these stories changed since there are no survivors from the time when they started.
If you like fiction you go to the library. Of course fiction could be based on a real event. But we need evidence to prove that something really happened. As much as many of us respect Native American myths and legends, it is a long way to prove that reality.

They don't call the "myths & legends"; they call it their history. And yes, their history was taught orally, instead of written. That doesn't make it any less viable.
How much more evidence do you have that WW1 happened, than they do that Bigfoot exists? Do you have ... DNA? Do you have clear video? Do you have anything other than what you know of history as it was taught to you? (verbal & written)
If a visitor from another planet called WWI a "legend" or a "myth" & asked for PROOF; could you prove it with something other than grainy images & your written history?

I cannot believe Fisheye suggested one may have been hallucinating! (That may explain HIS encounter...but what about everyone elses...or every other tribe (including those they may not be aware of)...Are they ALL hallucinating...the same exact thing...over and over again? LOL
So many different people and tribes, all hallucinating the same exact thing...(including every little detail), would actually be MORE incredible than documenting the existence of Sasquatch!!!
