I Have Memories of People having Died Who Are Still Alive!

It happened again: Tonight on ABC News, a segment mentioned 97 year old former Senator Bob Dole. I have distinct memories of his having died at least three years ago, and his life being celebrated on TV, and a moment of silence with "Rest In Peace, Robert Dole" on the screen.

This has happened many times in the last five or so years, with regards to celebrities such as athletes, other politicians, actors, and musicians.

Am I experiencing time travel without any control over it? I've been saying "I thought she/he died" in conversations at work or home, leading to awkward and sometimes embarassing moments.

I think there is a term for this, (but I cannot think of what it is off the top of my head)...

Ive experienced the same thing in my personal life, this girl I dated back in the early 90s, she had an aunt whose house we would stay at regularly, she had terminal cancer and I definitely remember her dying in the mid 90s...

but recently, I saw her sons Facebook page, he has pictures posted of him (as a teenager) with his mother ALIVE...I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this, he was under 5 yrs old when she died!!

Im not sure whats up with this, its strange for sure!

Im not sure this explains my experience though...I went to the funeral of my GFs aunt, I remember it in detail. I also remember there was alot of discussion between the family where her two young kids would go to live.

Unless she had a twin I never knew about, (its possible I guess but I never heard them mention another sister), and I doubt her child would be calling his aunt, his mother.

Its very weird.

My late husband and I were stunned to find out that Bernard Fox died in 2016.

We both had memories that he died soon after The Mummy (1999) came out. And in fact we both remembered Brendan Fraser talking about Bernard Fox, his death and acting in his last film and what an honor that was.

Only to find out it was like 15 years later that Bernard Fox died.

It is weird, but these things happen. We misremember things.

I have been told, by wifey and others, that mine is a bad habit, having recollections of people dying when they're still alive.

And isn't it ironic: I've never come across a time travel book or movie I didn't like!

Been obsessed with time travel since the late 1980s, when I first saw 'Back To The Future'
