OMG, they've "cleaned up" the film, and now it looks even more like a guy in a gorilla suit.

It was pretty impressive.
I don’t think it looks like a guy in a suit, even if it is a guy in a suit.
And if it is, it’s the best damn gorilla suit EVER made.
Cleaned up, the film definitely makes for a compelling case when they analyzed it.
Doesn’t make it real though.

I dont think it was a guy in a suit either...when Nike foot scientists tried to find someone who could duplicate the walking gait, they were unsuccessful.

The one aspect that still makes me wonder though, is the fact that these 2 guys went out to specifically capture a sasquatch on film...(when normally encounters happen by chance and are very few and far between)...and these 2 guys just happen to get that lucky that day? IDK, thats a huge sticking point, its like being struck by lightning on the same day you win the big lottery.

Of the 3 "experts" the show brought in to assess/verify the restored film, only one of them was willing to say it looked real. The second said it didn't, and the third was undecided.

Yes and one poor guy has been struck by lightning something like 7 times in his life. How strange is that?

I believe P & G had been Bigfoot hunting for a while before this encounter.
It’s not like they just drive up there one afternoon for a hike and “got lucky”.
Although they actually did get lucky I suppose, they did have some time invested.
Like anything else, if you put the time in, sooner or later it may pay off.
IDK. Not 100% convinced either way. Could be real, could be fake.

Patterson took a chance on investing in a camera that he could not afford to rent. It was a make-it or break-it decision and it had to pay off for him. To me, it's like seeing all the cars that run out of gas trying to get to a casino.

Here is a Wikipedia article on the film: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patter...%20debunk%20it.

In that link, it tells of two different confirmed times that Patterson used Bob Heironimus. Once for a film, he made about six months earlier and once to get a horse for Gimlin. The link also tells about how Patterson originally estimated the size of his BF to be around 6' 6" in height, but later changed his estimate to around a foot higher. Bob Heironimus was 6' tall and passed a lie-detector test on National TV about how he wore the suit for Patterson.

I have not seen the new 'enhanced' film. I am curious if you can still see Bob's white face and eyes looking back through a rectangular slot in the hairy hood? I also did not like the white feet on the last 'enhanced' footage since many primates do not have white feet. It even looked like the booties slipped while Bob was walking.

The only problem I have with this is that if Patterson could not afford to rent a camera, how could he have afforded to have made a big foot suite with the amount of detail in the video. That suite was pretty much just as good or better than anything Hollywood had at that time.

I do agree that the chances of him going out there to film big foot and actually by chance coming across one is just about zero, even if they do exist. It's way too convenient.

From the Wikipedia link: "In 2002, Philip Morris, owner of Morris Costumes (a North Carolina-based company offering costumes, props and stage products) claimed that he made a gorilla costume that was used in the Patterson film." Supposedly Morris's wife backed her husband's claims, but there are problems with that account and I have yet to see how much Patterson paid for the costume (maybe I missed that part?).

Patterson had a track record of searching for a way to make a quick buck. I know that it did not do him any good in the end run, but you cannot say he did not try. Even today he still has many believers and they will never give up trying to prove the film was real. I still think, if it could have been photographed once, then there should be plenty of quality pictures emerging every year - but there aren't.
