ATTACK OF COUGHING CAUSES MAN'S DEATH

After a hemorrhage, following a paroxysm of coughing, Henry Ruether, 74 years old, a widower residing at No. 2223 Gravois avenue, bled to death in the livery stable of John Gebgen, at No. 2220 Gravois avenue, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock."
Prior to the attack, Mr. Ruether was talking to Dr. F.W. Wessler of No. 2819 South Thirteenth street, and when the hemorrhage started, the physician did all in his power to check it but the effects were unavailing.

A telegram from Minocqua, Wis., says a big muskellunge pulled a fisherman from his boat, and had to be shot before it was captured. If it hadn't been for the bullets it is likely the fish would have swallowed the fisherman.

Mr. John Romjue of this vicinity, has on his farm a monstrosity in the shape of a calf that is without any indication of hair on its body. It is as slick as a peeled onion, and is spotted or "pided."

A phonograph was placed on his coffin, when the religious ceremony was over, the phonograph was turned on and the church listened to the dead man's voice rendering one of his favorite hymns.
