WHOSE FINGERS ARE THESE ?

John Ricks, who drives a delivery wagon for Butchers Green & Connors, of Argentine, yesterday found two human fingers near the Twenty-Fourth street bridge.
He took them to the shop and showed them to his employers. They advised him to turn them over to G.W. Simmons & Sons, the undertakers, which he did.
The fingers appeared to be those of a man and are supposed to be the two middle fingers. They were wrapped in paper and the opinion of those who examined them is that some physicians lost them. No Argentine surgeon, however, knew anything about recently amputated fingers.

TWELVE KILLED BY POISON

Montgomery, W. Va., May 29-- Harburger & Matson have the contract for building a big section of the new Paint Creek Railroad through the wild country 14 miles southeast of here.
They took over 200 Italians 40 miles from the Kanawha River to work on a big cut and till.

Near the center of the works, a big storehouse was erected for storing the provisions. Before the storehouse had been in use more than a week, it had been robbed.
The negro cook placed rat poison on a lot of the meat and mixed it with flour. Within a few days the storehouse was robbed again.

Frank R. Gibson, who came here today from Paint Creek, says a hunter named Addleson last week found 4 dead men lying on the ground near a cave. In the cave he found 8 more and a lot of flour, bacon and other provisions. The 12 men were all members of one family, brothers and cousins.

REIGN OF TERROR IN LONDON

London, Dec. 1--- The recent increased activity of the police here against "Hooliganism" in Whitechapel has been speedily followed by a revengeful murder.
Early today Constable Thompson attempted to disperse a band of "Hooligans" when one of the latter turned and stabbed him to death.
Thompson was closely connected with the search for the perpetrators of "Jack the Ripper" murders. Another band of armed "Hooligans" shot a woman in the Lime House district last night, and a number of other assaults by these rowdies have been chronicled.
Inhabitants of the east end of London have become panic-stricken by the frequency of the outrages.

TORE HIS FINGER OFF

J.H. Sisler, foreman for Schwarzschild & Sulzberger, met with a very painful accident yesterday afternoon while unloading a car of ice at Second and Grand avenue.
On the little finger of his right hand he wore a gold ring. In some manner the ice tongs caught in the ring and literally tore the flesh off his finger.
He was taken to police headquarters where Dr. Manahan amputated the finger. He was later sent home.
