My grandfather was in the hospital and he was admitted. At around 2:30 A.M., I saw the door in his room was violently open and I was sitting in the dinner room doing my homework. About 30 minutes later, there was a call from the hospital and the nurse told me that my grandfather has already been expired. That was really very scary.
Anyhow, things did not stop there, for the next 2 hours, I heard a lot of "steps" going back and forth.
Anyone has any interesting ghost story to share with me? Greatly appreciate!
I am the type of person who does not believe in ghost at all; but I now deeply believe in it. How are you going to deal with this in your religion?

I do not know if this is a ghost story or not. I work in the nursing home. Whenever a patient has to die along, I always say something like "You have been suffering so much in your life and hopefully the God will be with you soon." Patients always die quick after I say that.

Sometimes if you really pay attention, those who are dying will 'see' forms that we wouldnt be able to see. I've seen patients cry out in fear saying' he/she's coming or be calm or look almost happy as they too say 'someone' is coming when actually there's no one there.
I believe these forms are angels coming to take that person's life. If you do bad or are negligent of your duties, the angel of death will appear to you as a horrible looking apprition whereas if you do good, the angel will appear in a pleasant form inviting the person to meet his maker.

Interesting little story and experience, as a Native American no one believes that we have is thatwhen we pass away we do not die, we do not believe in death, we believe we travel from this world to the next and sit among our ancestors, now having said that, I was present when my father passed from this world to the next, he was dying from the horrible disease known as cancer and the night that he passed on to the next world I was sitting at the end of his bed, he was having a very fitful night and was very restless and I was sitting there trying to calm him, when all of a sudden there came a calmness over him and the whole room became very quiet, at that point I turned and looked at a chair that was sitting beside the bed and they're sitting in the chair was my grandfather, my father's father and he looked just as real as before he passed over, at that point I knew who it was time for my father to go and my grandfather told me that it was his time, it's been 17 years ago and it is still just as vivid in my mind as the very day it happened. I also know that when it is my time to pass over and sit with my ancestors, that my father and grandfather will come and show me the way.

I believe this too, braderjoe. Before my dad died of cancer, he had hospice care in his home. He was in a bed in the living room, and I often would climb in the bed with him, and we'd just lay there and talk (or rather, I did most of the talking). He would look off into the distance, point, and smile. I'd say, daddy, do you see something? He'd shake his head yes, look at me, and ask, don't you? I'd tell him no, then ask was it a good thing he saw? He'd nod yes, but never say what he saw.
Other times he'd move his mouth like he was talking to someone, but not say a word, while staring at the ceiling.
I was next to him when he died. He would stop breathing for a bit, but then start again. It was horrible. I was begging God to take him. When he finally took his last breath, he looked so empty...didn't even look like him anymore.

That's awesome, ptsum. Maybe my dad saw his parents, not angels?

The book "Final Gifts" contains different experiences, as witnessed by caregivers or nurses, of people who are dying. The accounts are fascinating and usually are about someone dying seeing someone whom they have known but died before them.
One story tells about a young man who was dying and said he saw his childhood buddy. This confused the people around him because this particular buddy was still alive.......so they thought.........until they heard the buddy had just been killed in a car accident!
A hospice worker recommended this book to me when my mother was dying of cancer. Sure enough, my mother also seemed to see people who had died before her.

My grandmother came from a Central European tradition that believed, among other things, an "Angel" would warn people of impending deaths in the family or among friends. This took the form of 3 knocks on the walls.
My mother couldn't sleep one night. She retired to the living room at about 3 AM. She was reading a book when something loudly knocked on the window next to her 3 times. She got spooked and went back to bed.
The next morning she learned her best friend had died in her sleep.

I remember one night I was called to a patient room and the patient told me that there was a man standing in the corner. I could feel there was another person in the room but I could not see him. Anyhow, I told her that I did not see anyone in the corner. After that, I have always tried to avoid that room unless there is someone in there. It was very spooky!

I don't know if this counts as a ghost story or not, but... years ago, my mother used to work at a storage place.
A lot of times when I went in there, I would hear a lot of noises. Sometimes it wasn't noticeable, other times you hear what sounds like people walking up to the door or walk inside, but when you look up to see or walk outside you see nothing there.
One time, during the day, I was sitting there talking to my mother, when I heard my name called. I thought nothing of it -- it could have been a person down the road I thought talking to someone -- but considering the distance the building is from people and cars, and how clear I heard the voice from a distance away, I can't explain it.
My mother has also worked there alone before, and she said she once heard what sounded like walking around up stairs, even though no one worked with her that day.
These things weren't scary. They just happened. I can't explain them. Is the place haunted? I don't know. But if it is, it's never bothered us.
