Collective conscious. As far as your explanation and connection to the ouiji board....would infer everything is predestined.

Generally, you get what you ask for.....indeed, be careful what you want to know and ask, you may find out more than you want to.

I do not need to see a fire and to pass through it on my own, in order to know what will happen.

There is an entire body of knowledge, derived from various religious and philosophical viewpoints, that have concluded that this is not a good thing to do.

Experiences repoted are more similar than dissimilar. I don't know anyone who has a positive story. I do know of others for whom it simply "did not work". I have seen that phenomenon and I believe it. I have also seen it work quite well for a number of people.

It is something that seems to interest adolescent girls more than the general population.
As virgood wrote, my group of friends asked similar questions. Questions about boys, marriage, our futures, and sometimes the past.

Once I asked what my former boy friend from high school was doing now. It wrote that I would soon find out. SECONDS later, the hall phone rang and someone answered it and knocked on our dorm room door. (in the late 70s there were no cell phones and not many people in college had their own phone in their room)

I answered the phone and it was my former boy friend and he really did not have much to say except that he felt the strange urge to call me at that moment! We were friends after the break up, and spoke occasionally.

I am not a religious fundamentalist. I am not against Tarot cards. I am against the Ouija board.

Agree with Virgode. This poster seems to be alluding to the collective subconscionable as defined by Karl Jung.

In terms of "getting what you ask for", I believe that to some degree, but then I am not a skeptic who is out to prove that everything that I can not totally explain. I am not and never will be ignorant enough to pretend that I know all of the answers...to anything. Ever.

Possibly an interesting side note. The Swiss psychoanalyst Karl Jung, who developed the idea of the "collective subconsciousness" spoke at my former university, along with his colleague from Vienna, Sigmund Freud.

The two argued about the supernatural quite a bit. This was almost one hundred years before my experience.

What I don't get is, why hasn't the FDA or other government agency regulated these devices? Maybe a sticker saying "do not operate when demons are nearby".

Why hasn't some mom come out and sued Hasbro for selling these little Portals to Hell to their children? Heck why not, someone sued Mcdonalds for serving too hot coffee, a window to Damnation would, I think, hold up in court.

And if I was a spirit, I would be pissed that someone would try to channel me with a mass-produced cardboard and plastic devise costing $15. I would be just a bit more exclusive.

Do spirits do like future Stock Market or financial analysis? Can you take them into casinos to do a quick reading on the next blackjack play?

Not off-topic; it's a valid observation.
There's plenty of evidence that Jersey pizza is better, though.

Glad you that you find this so funny. I am not being sarcastic in the least! Here is why your proposals will not work:

1. The FDA regulates Food and Drugs .No agency will not attempt to control this. First of all, so many people such as yourself do not believe in it, that a disclaimer on the part of anyone is not needed! Others would feel ashamed that they ever tried anything like this. Others will be embarrassed that they permitted their teenagers to use this device, and will just blame junior's depression , mood swings or suicide attempts on drugs or heavy metal music! That's what they usually do right?

2. No. The "spirits" in question are not there to help you with the stock exchange. They really don't know very much. They do know some precognitive information. Only enough to get you hooked. Not enough to help you. The don't want to help you. They want to hurt you!

3. The "spirits" do not need a printed Ouija board mass produced by game and toy company, in order to taunt you, give you misinformation or to ultimately possess you. If you would like the spirit to posses you, just make your own version up on paper - computer paper, lined note book paper, construction paper, and tip a small brandy glass. Find a person who is ignorant enough or foolish enough to think that this is a game, and begin asking questions.

4. The glass, which will act as a planchette, ( a spiritual cursor of sorts)

I do not advise this at all. It is not a game or a toy. I am in no way suggesting that you "play" with this.

If you want to read about the subject, send me a DM and I will give you some sources.

Please do not dabble around in it. No good has or will ever come of this.

My question centers around 'possesion'...

I know the Excercist taught us all to believe that if one is possesed, they'll become physically changed and turn into a monster...

But do you think there are more 'subtle' forms of possesions?

Less evident possesions, which in the long run could prove to be more damaging?
