How do I find out if a tour company in England is legit (transfer)

Hello

Just made a reservation with a tour company in England for an historical tour. Is there a way that I can confirm that the company is in good standing and that it would be safe to transfer the money?

It occurred to me that anyone could say they are a tour company and set up a bank account. Maybe a silly thought but if it were in the US I would check the chamber of commerce or better business bureau.

Do they have something like that in England?

Any suggestions?

Just a hint, but stick with companies that are ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and you should be fine.
