Best city outside London (employment, to live, nicest)

With all these city v city threads going about I thought I would get in on it lol London is the UK's best city in a lot of peoples opinions but after London what is your favourite UK city?

Glasgow gets my vote. Manchester 2nd.

Edinburgh. Then probably Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham or Liverpool.

Cambridge, Oxford, Bath arent really 24 hour cities. I used to like Birmingham, but its gone down hill a lot in recent years.

I think Liverpool is the 2nd most important city after London in the UK, it feels more worldly than Manchester or Birmingham and the architecture is better in its centre.

Biggest, most to see/do - no doubt. Overall nicest? I picked Oxford.

Personally I don't really like London.

It's a bit like New York. Nice to see, but don't think I'd ever want to live there.

As a truck driver I've been quite lucky and seen a lot of the UK.
None of the big cities particularly struck me, but I guess I'm a townie at heart

I have to say I quite like Canterbury and it's surrounding areas.

It depends on what criteria you use to judge "best"

I think I'd have to put in an honourable mention for Stirling.
I know it has it's problems, but it's got architecture, history, employment is picking up, facilities are quite good, and it's pretty ideally situated geographically
