My SO was born in Red hill England and then he moved to Dorking when he was 2. Now he lives in Estepona. Well when we get married we are planning on moving Back to the UK. So I am wondering which is the best place to live for someone who has Asthma? Or someone who has Allergies for that matter.
I have asthma, and the time I spent in southern England (winter, spring, and summer) did not aggravate it, unless I caught the flu. But, I caught the flu because I brought my heavy winter coat with me that I need here in Pennsylvania because winters are cold like southern Sweden and didn't have a rain proof jacket that caused me to sweat too much. I'm used to -5°C to 5°C winters, cooler than England's.
Grass pollen, certain plants, trees, oil seed rape?
City pollution can often be carried outside of urban areas leading to hot spots of ozone and other pollutants in more rural areas.
England covers such a relatively small area that I'm not sure that there is a definitive answer.
Better to establish what the triggers are and to avoid them, and to manage the medication properly.
One of the most common triggers is household mites so consider what is going on in the house- don't have carpets, keep an eye on mattresses, don't have pets etc etc.
Many children with asthma grow out of the condition.
I don't think that you can base a move on this factor alone.
If weather is a trigger, the southwest of England apparently has pretty mild weather thanks to the warmer seas around there. Otherwise perhaps the more rural counties such as Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire - unless pollen from crops or fertiliser dust is an issue?
Oxfordshire always seems like a good option but it suffers from damp conditions due to the local geography, it is surrounded on 3 sides by hills and is mostly lowland so once the fog or damp conditions move in it can take a while for them to move on out. We used to find this particularly applied to thunderstorms which would rumble around and around while 50 miles south was sunny.
I would head for Wiltshire parts of Hampshire and Kent for drier climates.
I think bedford city gives you a good rest. There are very cheap houses in their and beautiful atmosphere.
Also medial treatment is well known of Bedford city. I suggest you to go their .
I see you're not fluent in Internet Americanese...."Hubby" is not the dog either....
