Did Harry Selfridge have a greater affect on Britain than any other American? A show I watched on PBS last night - Secrets of Selfridge's - seemed to imply that.
Isn't it safe to assume that there have been a few Presidents that could stake a claim to that title?
Aside from that he owned a shop, a big one but still a shop. I'm not aware of him having any particular influence on British history other than possibly in the world of retail.

Lol, I just saw that PBS program also. I never heard of Harry Selfridge before that. Its a shame that he never knew his grandchildren.
Anyway to answer your question, there is a famous half American half British man, who was possibly the greatest leader of the 20th century. Definitely one of my favorites.
You've possibly heard of a little incident called World War II?
I guess the question would then be how did either of the US Presidents influence the British government during that conflict.
