His song "Coney Island" always had a special appeal and inspiration to me, and as part of a UK visit, a chance to do so appears to be closer and closer to a reality.
For any unfamiliar, this is Morrison's song from his 'Avalon Sunset' album>
Is the atmosphere and descriptions that Van paints still in existence and not paved over in the past 35 years?

Would this make for an enjoyable day (or two) away from London considering we wanted to visit that corner of the UK on an upcoming Euro vacation that would include a flight in and out of London. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Belf...!3e0?entry=ttu
Thank you and where do I get me some of that craic?
Coming down from Downpatrick
Stopping off at St. John's Point
Out all day birdwatching
And the craic was good
Stopped off at Strangford Lough
Early in the morning
Drove through Shrigley taking pictures
And on to Killyleagh
Stopped off for Sunday papers at the
Lecale District, just before Coney Island
On and on, over the hill to Ardglass
In the jamjar, autumn sunshine, magnificent
And all shining through
Stop off at Ardglass for a couple of jars of
Mussels and some potted herrings in case
We get famished before dinner
On and on, over the hill and the craic is good
Heading towards Coney Island...
P.S. We both enjoy driving, bird watching, taking pictures and potted herring

Reason: I fixed the typo in the title.
Don't be afraid to travel to the rest of Ireland when you are there. Too many people miss an opportunity where they just go to Dublin or Belfast. The real part of the country is outside these cities
Hi Shawn,
Just read your message, did you get to Coney Island?
Hope you both did and found what you wanted .
Looking forward to hearing Yes.
We lived in the next street, but he was away from there
his mum and dad where there.
Best regards, Billy.
Always a great singer. My favourite is "Someone like you" My wife and I danced to that song on our wedding day.
Mine too. I just revisited my Van Morrison collection and thought I would add some more albums and was stunned to find he made 46 studio albums and 9 live albums ( some double ). Now busy downloading from Amazon Music Unlimited and listening to them all.
My new favorite, which I had never heard before yesterday:
It’s All in the Game * You Know What They’re Writing About
Van the Man. I had to go to Dublin to bury my best friend a few years ago and as we carried his casket into the church they played "Days Like This".... Also shows a good Irish sense of humor.
