In fact Chick-fil-A is the Number 20 fast food chain in the US.

I'm sure the first UK franchise will do extremely well.
FWIW, the first Krispy Kreme franchise in Ireland, in Dublin, is the most successful anywhere in the world.

I didn't say it was number 1 in number of locations.

Customers ranked the fast-food eatery's accuracy, food quality, menu variety, cleanliness, staff behavior and website satisfaction above the 17 other restaurants listed and the two other categories, which included "all others" and "limited-service restaurants."

And it's the third largest in sales:

Chick-fil-A moved up from the No. 7 spot on last year's Nation's Restaurant News' Top 200, passing Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Subway. Chick-fil-A's system-wise sales grew 16.7% in 2018, up from $8.97 billion.

Experts say there is no reason to believe Chick-fil-A's growth will slow anytime soon.

I don't think some forum members get the fact that Chick Fil A actually hand make a lot of products and it's often dar more fresh than many other outlets.

Still for the unimpressed British, it should be noted that Greggs is launching a fried chicken menu, and that there is always Chicken Cottage and Dixy Chicken.

I don't understand. You cited Target's bathroom policy as offending you. Now you say you don't care.........Not to be sexist, but that seems like taking a woman's right to change her mind beyond reasonable.*Change the color of your shoes.....fine!

The reason people object to CFA is that unlike Target who apparently responded favorably to criticism, about a policy change, CFA steadfastly still opposes SCOTUS sanctioned LBGT marriage by donating money to groups that oppose. They're taking an overtly political stance, that is not consequence free. Others are free to oppose.

If you support their right to donate, you can't oppose other people's right to object.

Given CFA's intransigence on the Sunday trading & LGBT issues I just wonder how willing they will be to adapt their business model to UK realities. In the US, for drive thru purposes, they specify sites of 1.2 to 1.5 acres, that's 50-60K sq.ft., bigger than many UK grocery stores. They won't be able to do that so much in the UK. I suspect outside the US they'll be forced to go the McD route of installing digital ordering stations in store.

I don't eat fast food but if you think fried chicken in a bun is something to celebrate that's fine with me.

I just prefer to eat food that isn't deep-fried.

I understand, and that's is reasonable. However, their restaurants display NO political message, and you'd never know the owner donated to those charities if you stepped into one, but people have the right to object if they want. The LGBTQ community called for a boycott, and the next day the franchise saw record sales.
