US fried chicken chain Popeyes has announced it will open it's first UK outlet this year, possible in London, with over 350 outlets in the UK to follow over the next 10 years.
Other North American chains expanding in the UK include Taco Bell, Wendy's, Wingstop, Chipotle, Jollibee, Tim Hortons, Five Guys, Shake Shack, Smashburger, Slim Chickens, MOD Pizza , Krispy Kreme, Dunkin, Baskin-Robbins, Häagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry's etc etc.
More established chains and products such as McDonalds, Stabucks KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns, Subway etc also have also increased home delivery sales during the pandemic.
Other non North American major chains such as Greggs, Pret (which is moving in to hot meals), Paul (the French equivalent of Pret), Upper Crust, Muffin Break, Bagel Factory, Costa Coffee, Cafe Nero, Weatherspoons, Wagamama, Nandos, Franco Manca (Pizza), Fireaway Pizza, Pizza Express, German Doner Kebab, Wahaca, Tortilla, Itsu, Yo Sushi, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Honest Burger, Creams, Kaspas etc are using the pandemic as a spring board in terms of new openings or new opportunities.
for what its worth we have a Popeyes up the road, it is awful
i have had Popeyes in the states, same company and it was very good, but for some reason the franchise that opened in my neighbourhood is missing something
I can see this in big cities, hopefully the village chippy wont be effected
Hopefully.
Those places are low quality junk food anyway. You already have great food and I hope and pray this type of establishment doesn't take over. That's really lowering your standards. (Haagen Das ice cream, I'll make an exception. Excellent, and they don't use milk from hormone fed cows.)

Popeyes's chicken strips/fingers are horrible. Little chicken, all batter.
Looking forward to seeing more 300 lb *140 kg 10 year olds in UK in the next few years.
