(I don't get that much UK over here in the colonies.)
A rough breakdown would be that stirred by Sir Kier Starmer’s constant political digs in Parliament, Boris lashed out and said that Sir Kier failed to prosecute a celebrity who later came to be known as a prolific sex offender, specialising in assaulting younger people of both sexes.
This was when Sir Kier was head of the Crown Prosecution Service, a body that decides whether or not judicial proceedings go ahead.
Strictly speaking this was true, but ultimately it wasn’t Sir Kier’s place to make the final decision.
The rabble that verbally attacked Sit Kier believed what Boris had said, and convinced themselves that Sir Kier had neglected to prosecute a paedophile celebrity.
Whether or not Sir Kier would make a good P.M. depends on your political view.
He’s undoubtedly an intelligent man, but personally I’d rather the country was governed by Conservatives, at my advanced age I remember how bad the Socialists were whenever they had power in the past.

Thank you for the explanation. From the few speeches of his that I've heard, I do like Kier Starmer but I don't know enough about what happened in the past or about what his party might do to have much of an opinion.

I liked Boris at the very beginning but his arrogance and craziness wore off fast for me. I don't know what it takes to get rid of a leader but sometime around the time he got covid for not bothering to wear a mask, I think that said enough about him. Seems as though now people are just looking for any excuse to be rid of him. Partygate doesn't seem that much of a big deal, just something that winds people up because they were supposed to follow rules and he didn't. But whatever. Would be nice to see a change.

Boris accused Starmer of not doing enough in prosecuting Jimmy Saville.. and I dont see Starmer getting near no 10 ever. I think Labour would need someone stronger but what do I know.

From your lips to God’s ears diz, and don’t put yourself down, (but what do I know),
you’re a canny wee lassie as far as this Franco-Sassenach can see.
Another nail in Bojo’s coffin today, John Armitage, the financier who donated £3,000,000 to the Tories said that Johnson is past the point of no return, and that challenges facing the West demanded “serious, engaged” politicians.

Oh, they're really ready to see Bojo go away. I don't know who would replace him. I like Starmer no matter what but I know less than anyone on here. I am sick of Bojo and he even reminds me of the arrogant and ignorant idiot we had over here. Better to see him gone.

Bojo got Brexit and then his time was over. I don't think he handled covid very well with severe lockdowns and then suddenly opening everything up and getting people sick all over again. Should have enforced mask wearing, good quality masks. I heard that even London on public transport people weren't wearing masks. Wearing a cheap cotton mask or a bandana is useless too.

We had a lot of anti vaxers and anti maskers and all they do is make themselves and others sick. If we could get covid under control it wouldn't mutate so much. But we have good areas of the country where there were rules and people followed the rules gladly. Well, actually, the entire world is a mess right at the moment.

As someone who lives in central London and uses the subway and buses once or twice per week, I have to correct you on mask wearing, the majority of riders wear masks.
Of course you’ll always get the odd scofflaw, or moron who feels that following the rules is beneath him, they wear their ignorance with pride, but they are very much in the minority.
Some anti vaxxers are rabid in their beliefs, one of my female cousins, (our mothers were sisters), WhatsApped my wife and asked, “Has Jean-François been jabbed?”
My wife replied, “Yes, he’s had two and is waiting for his booster”, (at that time), and he wears a mask on public transport and in supermarkets”
The cousin told my wife, “Tell him he’s dead to me, the wimp!”

Sounds like she’s no loss.
At least you’ll save a £ or two when you are sending out Christmas cards this year.

Personally I'm so sick of COVID I don't really care about no.10's little get-together. Most people that are passing away currently are unvaccinated out of personal choice and the spread of the virus can only really be decelerated not halted.

I actually like Boris' blazeh, relaxed attitude. The alternative is authoritarian wee Nicola or vaccine-mandate driven Trudeau. Restrictions are causing more harm in other ways including those suffering from other illnesses. I say keep Bojo in.

I liked Boris as london mayor and thought he'd be good as PM, but he has shown recently that he has a total lack of integrity and he's now a liability for the tory party.
