Why dont you guys strip the Monarchy of all its power?

It's already been established, that Monarchy has only limited power and mainly serves as ceremonial figureheads.

Despite perceptions to the contrary in the rest of the world, we don't spend all day every day obsessing about the queen. I'm in the minority against monarchy, but have more pressing concerns in my life, such as, oh you know, paying bills, working, raising a family. And looking at the crooks and swindlers in Parliament, I don't have much faith in the elected alternatives.

I'm more offended by an unelected Prime Minister, who refused election by his own party, never mind the country he governs. Not to mention the continued existence of the house of lords, whose hereditary members were replaced by mostly political appointees. Then there are unelected judges who make (ahem, interpret) law every day. And don't get me started on the EU. The queen is the least of my worries.

  • Denmark
  • Belgium

^ What he said.

Also, if I remember my history correctly didn't the Oliver Cromwell's common wealth fail miserably? Can someone who's from the U.K. please elaborate/correct me if I'm wrong.
