We got both car-share and bike-share programs in the past month or two...we'll see which is more successful. Biking is already pretty popular in the central city here, and we're just down the road (within decent road-biking distance) of Davis, a major bike-advocacy mecca.
It seems to me you'd end up with a lot of bikes piled up certain places and too few where people want them, because not everyone would ride both ways. How do they manage that?

This might happen but I suppose they have a plan to re-shuttle them around as needed when needed.

I kind of wondered that, too. But overall I really like the idea. My biggest concern would be whether or not the front fender provided adequate coverage to keep my feet dry.
