Gives me another chance to peddle my fantasy for my hometown, Indianapolis.
It would be nice if it was rail... but I would settle for BRT... and the city should actually USE THE INTERSTATES for public transportation. As of now, there are zero (0) buses that run on all those glorious miles of pavement.
The individual projects are at various stages. Some of the ones that are closest to reality are: Downtown streetcar (laying tracks), Beltline (TAD funded, acquired a lot of land and built initial paths), MMPT (Accelerated Federal Approval).
The Transit Coalition's is my favorite, mostly because the lines it shows are going to be built in the near future plus ideas that have actually been kicked around (i.e. the line down the 405, Hollywood to Glendale Line, Slauson Line).
It's also cool because you can really see two rail transit hubs developed (one at Union Station and the other at LAX) and their "spokes" converging to form a grid system.
