One of my latest hobbies is going on little armchair-vacations to different places in the US by browsing Google Maps and its aerial and street-level views. I've been particularly fascinated by examples of urban blight and abandonment (Baltimore) and crazed-traffic at border crossings (Texas). And apparently other folks have had similar interests like in this thread.

Then I thought to myself why not also look in my own backyard for the interesting and unusual? Thus, this thread- a place to share any fun google maps discoveries of our lovely State of Utah. Here's a list of ones I've found interesting so far, though I've just stuck to the greater salt lake valley so...
Anyone else as nerdy as me, post your links! I haven't found anything cool yet on the street-level view, so those are more than welcome! (For those that don't know, street-level view can be accessed by dragging the yellow person figurine onto the map and any road highlighted blue is mapped for street view). Street-level view has good coverage in Utah as can be seen in this image:

And for even more fun, there is Bing Maps which has a birds-eye, angled view to spice things up! http://www.bing.com/maps/

That's pretty cool! I love Google Earth, you might want to check it out. It has a timeline slider you can see pics from the 40's!

I've blown plenty of otherwise potentially productive work time on GE. For Utah anyway, my GE Streetview highlighs are my house, my car parked at my mom and dad's house, my work and the house I grew up in when I was a little kid.

Seriously though, I love it for planning hikes and 4X4 trips. Thanks google!(despite your evil ulterior motives of mapping local WIFI zones)
