I've gathered from what you've posted GoOrioles (Baltimore Orioles? Because I'm a fan), and I have to agree with Katzpur; you seem quite uninformed on many of the LDS beliefs and intentions, and based on your already assumed stereotypes I don't see you liking it here. Though there are many anti-mormons in Salt Lake City, so perhaps you'd feel at peace in certain areas there, assuming you associate with the right people.

Well this has certainly been interesting, and enlightning as well. I've gotten many responses, most have been decent and non-confrontational. Funny thing is, the non-LDS who have responded are the ones who are tolerant of others, and shared their thoughts without getting personal and downright angry and mean-spirited. On the flip side, some of the LDS have been quite the opposite, some even so far as to assume that they know me and my personality, making personal remarks. It is amusing to me, and don't assume you know the size of my mind. You see, this was a little exercise that myself and a couple other fellow LDS followers wanted to do. We are, and yes, I am, LDS and wanted to get a glimpse of how my own faith treats others who may be leary and uninformed. I am very disappointed and somewhat ashamed. Instead of reaching out to calm and properly inform, you have done the opposite. I hardly think that being abrasive, condescending, rude, obnoxious, angry and mean is what we teach and practice. I suggest Mathew 5;22-24.

This has to be one of the funniest threads I ever have read on CD. Your LDS and you posted a thread entitled "Will the Mormons drive me crazy?". Thats just too funny.

I believe, like many here have said, if you really are LDS and your asking yourself this, then perhaps this isn't the state for you. Everywhere is 50-98% LDS here. If you aren't used to that or don't want that, its not for you. Its different. People are different at Church when Mom, Dad, siblings and 3rd cousins all live within 5 minutes of them. It takes the idea of a "ward family" to a whole new world.

My only suggestion if its still important for you to come here, try a long vacation here (2 weeks?) and see for yourself. I think I can empathize with you. I think the good outweighs the bad. Best of luck on your decision.

Oh and for the record, I think most posters here thought you referring to missionaries knocking on your door constantly and it went down hill from there.

The non-LDS weren't the ones who were being insulted.

I don't really care what you say, I flat out don't believe you are LDS, at least not a believing, practicing member of the faith.

I'm disappointed that someone would start such a disingenuous thread and waste the time of all of the people who have responded to it so far. And as far as being ashamed, you ought to be.

What "we" teach? What a joke.

The OP has been mean-spirited and false in this thread. If you look at his history or posts (publicly available if you click on his name then on "find all posts" he is either moving many places or has been playing this trick on other forums. Not nice. Thread closed. Go play somewhere else.
