I have always found the scenery of Utah to be magnificent. However, if I were to move there from Oregon, I would need to be near some woods and streams. What is the best location in the state for such things? Just curious.

In general, within the mountain ranges is where you'll find the most greenery: Wasatch, Uintahs, Wasatch Plateau (west of Price), Pahvant Range (east of Fillmore), Tushar Mts (Brian Head ski resort area), La Sal Mts (southeast of Moab), etc. Problem is, most all of the towns and cities in Utah were built in the desert valleys where it's essentially hot (in summer) and brown. That said, it's a fairly short drive from most cities and towns to get to the mountains, unless you are in extreme western Utah (as in Delta or Wendover).

The further North the better for green. I'm not a fan of Logan but I've been up there to go to Bear Lake and that place looked pretty green to me.

I should clarify and say I love the red rock country of southern Utah, but for my weekly hikes I also like the woods. Thanks for the tips. It does look like most towns in Utah are a fairly close to nice mountains and forests, especially in the Wasatch and Uinta country.

Route 40 east towards the Uintas is probably the greenest and forested area I have seen thus far in Utah.
