Lake effect depends pretty much on which way the wind is blowing across that Great Salt Lake.Winds right outta the North, Tooele gets it, out of the North West, well, that is really good as the Cottonwood Canyons score! WInds coming out of the West, well then NSL and up that way get the good stuff.
I am in East Millcreek and we got pounded late Monday into Tuesday-15 inches at the house and a splendid amount at Brighton for skiing.
Went up yesterday, skied around for 3 hours, came home, layed on the patio couch and had an hour long nap. I also was able to do the nap in shorts and T shirt, sorry Hilgi, no Wind Chill experiments going on that day!

Generally when Tooele is getting blasted with snow, Stansbury hardly gets much at all. Tooele is actually about 1000 feet higher in elevation than Stansbury is. My mom, who lives in Tooele, is constantly shoveling her driveway and sidewalk when I barely get a dusting! Of course, there are exceptions and have been times we got more than she did.

Your mom lives here? I didn't know that, Kaytidid. When did she come out here?

Yep. She has lived here just as long as we have, save about 2 months. Going on 17 years now and loving it more every year!
