Hi, i live in California. My husband has a job offer to move to Price, Roosevelt, or Vernal, Utah. I've read many things about Utah, bad and good. i just want an honest answer/opinion: My family is Christian not Mormon, would that be a problem? I've read from other people that live in Utah that if your not Mormon you are treated different and like your not as good?

Hi, seams like there is a lot to do there. I am from Bakersfield, California and there's nothing to do. its not the best place to raise kids either. But i have a question, if your not Mormon would you recommend living in Utah. I am not a "Mormon hatter" or anything, but we are a strong christian family.

In my former job at the U of Utah - I was a liaison with a program at the College of Eastern Utah.

I'm also a former Californian - and a native of Wisconsin.... and yes, Price is QUIET. Too Quiet for me.

But YMMV.

When you drive *by* Price, you really drive *by*.
From the freeway, not much to see about Price.

What really surprised me was to find out that Price is a small University Town !!!

We use Price as our base operation when we fly *around Price*.
If you could see the surroundings of Price *from the air*, you would be looking at stuff you never thought was there.
Just within a few miles, you find incredible views.
The San Rafael Swell, the Green River canyon, Nine Mile Canyon, to name a few !!!
Totally awesome.

I lived in Price for about 5 years. I have 2 young kids, elementary age. My older child had an easy time making friends, but my younger one had a hard time. I don't know if it was just her personality or the fact that we weren't Mormon. There doesn't seem to be to much of a Mormon presence there, at least not that I noticed (except for the huge churches and the tiny Catholic church lol). I knew a lot of teenagers in the area. Every one of them was into some kind of drugs.

The area is BEAUTIFUL! You can drive for 5 minutes and be in the middle of nowhere just enjoying the view. One night on a drive I saw at least 200 elk cross the road near the mountains. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Finding employment there is difficult unless you are a male looking to work in a coal mine. Most of the people there are very friendly, but it seemed like all the people I knew just wanted to go out and party all the time. Gossip is ridiculous.

I don't believe there are a lot of activities for the kids, now that I don't live there anymore my kids have a lot more choices in after school activities, that I didn't realize they were missing out on in Price.
