My husband and I have lived in Tooele all our lives, when the population was around 12,000. Tooele was a nice little town where we all knew each other. Driving to Salt Lake City used to be a fun, happy experience, as did shopping at the local grocery stores or having the "town raise the child."
However, all of these pleasantries that made Tooele our "hometown" abruptly ended when hoards of transplants decided to leave their busy and non-personal cities and sometimes degraded towns and move to Tooele, bringing with them what they desperately wanted to leave behind in their towns.
Most locals hate what has happened to our once hometown, although there isn't one thing any of us could do to stop the droves of people coming to Tooele and taking over.People now are extremely rude, entitled, and downright ignorant, but most don't care. These transplants figure Tooele is THEIR town now, they have a justified right to behave any way they please; Tooele belongs to them!
