Rather than south SL county, I'd look in Springville or Mapleton.

Not really, or at least far less so than most other places. In looking to move and comparing gun laws of multiple pro gun states, I consider Utah to be the best as far as respecting our 2nd Amendment. The OP doesn't care about this subject so I will limit my response to that, but you would be happy here in that regard.

To the OP, Utah County would be the most difficult area to find liberals in the Wasatch front. It is known as the area with the strongest LDS influence, which as you know typically means conservative Republicans. The more liberal areas are Salt Lake City south to about Millcreek, and Park City.
