Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love the area where Fuzz took those gorgeous photos, but if you go south from Price, Utah on Hwy 6 you will see almost nothing but sand/dirt and a little sage brush - for miles - all the same color. No water, no trees and if you stop the car and listen, there is not a sound other than cars or some wind. There are no birds or bugs or anything making a noise there. To me, that is the "arm pit" of Utah, but I would guess that a good photographer like Fuzz could aim his camera to the west at the book cliffs and end up with another gorgeous photo.

There are probably some who think that area is beautiful for its barren stark landscape. I just prefer red rocks or forests - of which we have plenty in Utah.

May be better said
-- beauty is from the view of the eye of the beholder ---
I agree, the view on highway 6 does not change, except for the yellow line in the street.

But ...
As in many areas, the land changes abruptly when you get *off the road*.
Literally ...
Take any of the dirt roads and the view does dramatically change.
About halfway down to I-70, there is the Price River Gorge to the east,
and just a few short miles over the hills to the west, you find the San Rafael Swells.
Very little can *top* those views.
You can walk/hike, or drive (not with your Lincoln Towncar !!), or ...
you can do what we do, and that is fly over those areas.
OK, may be one in a thousand have the privilege to *fly*.

One thing is that, because it is rather hard to access those areas, they are still pristine and unspoiled.
NO myriads of trails *carved/cut* into the ground from ATV units.
Just sparsely established dirt roads, there since almost creation days ...

Anybody been at *Chinese Ruins* ??
The area where Chinese immigrant workers attempted to build the railroad ?
Just one of the worthwhile visits, to see and learn about the history of Utah.

If you want to get a feel of the true vastness of this State, visit the San Rafael Swells,
and enjoy a serene beauty very few areas still have.
No hundreds of parked cars either !!!
And as long as some idiots do not take *pot shots* at all those old Indian Artifacts,
hopefully for a long time to come.

Yes, Highway 6 from Price to Green River, is the ultimate of *boring* ...

This topic needs a bump! And a picture! Arches National Park the night of the "super moon". I didn't even know about the moon being larger. I was taking a photo of something else, turned around, and "BAM" there was a giant moon.

First one is of course a lot of peoples favorite place, Bryce Canyon down South. The 2nd was taken in early October the week before the 1st snow hit so colors were just starting up Big Cottonwood Canyon, and last of course is a near Christmas time scene of the Temple Square as it will look soon enough.
