Hello! I am considering buying a vacation property in Park City. I am an avid skier and my family would probably enjoy PC in the summer time as well. I have looked at some studios, some of which i liked, in the under $150K range. But they all need gut renovation since they look extremely old and outdated, and sad.. popcorn ceilings from the 70-ies, old appliances, dark walls and old carpet, you get the jist.

If I bought one, I'd be looking to gut renovate it to modern standards. That means replacing the entire interior, removing popcorn ceiling and possibly doing suspended ceiling with recessed lights, replacing the floor, repainting, replacing kitchen and bathroom - removing the tub in favor of shower cabin, rplacing the sink and building a new closet. I should mention this is a smallish 350 sf studio with a kitchenette (3 cabinets and a cookctop basically) and I'd be willing to cut corners on materials as long as the aesthetics are up to par (ie don't need hardwood floor, laminate will do as it will get dinged up with ski boots anyway, don't need granite for countertops, etc.).

So my question is this... how much would a project like this cost in PC? I have a pretty good idea of what things cost in my city, having just finished renovating my condo, but i am in a large coastal metro area where prices would be completely different, i imagine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
