The mountains and green valleys look wonderful, but is the water supply unlimited? Does Utah require irrigation rights?

I’m not familiar with irrigation rights, but water definitely isn’t unlimited. Utah is the second driest state in the nation (from where I live, it’s only an hour’s drive to barren desert). We’ve had a very wet spring, so things are greener than normal. Unless you’re planning on starting a farm, you should have enough water. Overall, I don’t believe that we’re quite as pressed for water as the cities that get their water from the Colorado River but we still live in a relatively dry area.

Yes, every drop of surface & groundwater is owned by the State of Utah and they grant water rights for people to use it. Any point of diversion larger than two rain barrels per year is required to have a water right.
