why isn't the parking free at the gateway mall? it's only free on Sun. first time I heard that you need to pay for the parking for such a big mall. do u know why?

At least in Utah, all of the parking garages cost $$. You can validate your parking at select stores at the Gateway, and your parking will be free. Adjoining business also use the parking, along with the Discovery Gateway, etc.

I thought that the parking to the North of the mall, by Old Navy was free. It isn't underground but more of a parking lot. Am I mistaken??

According to the Gateway's website, the surface lot you are referring to is not free.Shop The Gateway (http://www.shopthegateway.com/directions.html - broken link)

Behind (west) of Gateway there is free parking on the streets. I always find a spot there!

Also, don't forget that Trax (light rail) goes right to the Gateway - a much easier way of shopping!

where do we park our cars at the trax before we take the trax to gateway and how much does it normally cost? might be the same cost (trax parking and trax fee) as parking at the mall? thanks for your input.

It's been a while since I have taken Trax (at least 3 years), so this information may be outdated. There are park & ride lots beginning at the 1300 South stop & going south (with the exception of the 9400 South stop - it doesn't have a lot attached). I also don't know if park & ride lots are planned for the east-west route that is going to West Jordan & Daybreak.
