Utah does have bad drivers - I hate those that hold up the left lane, for example. But it doesn't compare to those I've experienced when I lived in Houston or Newark. Those drivers make ours look like such angels!

I'd rather drive in rush hour traffic in Minneapolis than drive what I do in Salt Lake every day. Then with all of the construction on 80, you have one giant mess. Nobody uses the turn signal out here either!

How about making a right turn from the left lane and a left turn from the right lane? I see that everyday here.

How about driving along and then someone in front of you stopping in the middle of the road for no reason and then looking upset when you go around them like they are saying "whats wrong with you, why are you passing me"

this was a gem. a few days ago i had some speed-demon cruise up on my right and squeeze in between me and the car directly in front of me without pausing, without slowing down, without signalling. he was so close i had to hit my brakes. then, when i honked at him, he hit his brakes real hard and i almost ran right into the back of him, even after braking hard.

but hey, he was in a hurry. can't be bothered to obey common courtesy, decent, safe operation of a potentially deadly machine, and umm, the law.

but then again, in florida, i was rearended three times within a two-month period, while sitting stationary at stop signs and stop lights.

maybe i am invisible, or maybe my car is. it is kind of a soft gray color...

I'm in Southern Utah and have come to the conclusion that since most of the state is rural that's whrere alot of folks learned to drive. Not alot of police and if they are around most folks know them. And if you got your initial experiance driving tractors, forklifts and balers when you were 14 that's the way you'll drive cars. You don't develope a lot of good driving habits like being aware of other traffic and pedestrians in the middle of a 400 acre field of alfalfa.

As I understand it, there are two things that have to happen when one moves to Utah.
1) Your tastebuds must be surgically removed because you won't need them
2) Before registering a car in Utah, the turn signals must be removed.

for sure. I think they should have to pass a test every year on what a car blinkers function is, how to use it, and be fined if they don't. It is seriously ridiculous.
