We are a young Christian family currently living in Texas. We have resaearched several different states and feel like Utah would be our best choice. We have narrowed it down to the Ogden area and surroundings. We've read all the post and our planning a trip in May to settle our minds. Guess all we really need to know is how well we will be recieved and or rejected. We have heard stories of people being shuned by Mormons. We have not had experience with this sect and wouldn't imagine it since we are Christians. We love and accept everyone and our respectful of others beliefs. Any opinios, stories, experiences, ideas and suggestions would be well appreciated. Thank you.

I think you will be fine. You have a good attitude about it. In my opinion, most of what you read on this site are squeaky wheels with axes to grind.

Default Ogden Christian Church

We belong to a great Christian church in Ogden. My daughter is in the youth group there and loves it. It's called Alpine Church. They have a Web site. Belonging to this church has definitely made my time here more pleasant.

"We love and accept everyone and our respectful of others beliefs."

If you give love most likely you will receive love and if you give respect you will receive respect. Sometimes it takes some trying but it does happen. And you seem to have a great attitude and not likely one to shun away from a few people with a chip on their shoulder or axes to grind. Good luck to you!

Smile Hi there!

Hi. My family & I are moving to Utah real soon now. Yeah!!! Can't wait to have us all finally there. We're a Christian family from the Midwest. Just so you feel better, there are other Christian churches around, too.
This is the site I used most to search churches. They list websites on many churches.

Moderator cut: linking to competitors sites is not allowed

Type in the 'city' and it will narrow it down from there. But remember, that most of these cities are all melded together, so churches in nearby cities may really not be far at all.

BTW, what a blessing that you found this site. It's sure helped my family a lot, too. Both the LDS & non-LDS have been VERY helpful! Reading lots of reviews on cities from local Utahns sure helps a lot. I've done tons of internet research on the area, but not much beats talking to local people.

Hope all goes well with you & yours.

Default Move to Ogden reply

My advise is to be true to yourself. Be honest that your not interested if thats how you feel. You will be fine the Ogden areas are diverse. Lots of shopping, nice housing, good size location. There building a theater downtown, it is looking good for Ogden. I read a light rail may come in Pleasant view Utah. That would be great to hop on train to get around, lots of new business with come and housing prices will go up. Pretty mountains and some Christian Churches too. Its time for people just to not worry about other peoples religious preference and life live to its fullest. This is my additude and I am very happy in Utah. I have the I am OK you are OK additude, this works for me and I love it here in Utah!!! Good Luck, you will be fine.
