Hi. I'm going to be delivering a baby at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, UT come July and I'd like to know what other birthing "guests" have experienced. Are they attentive? Anal about things? Allow intermediate heart monitoring instead of continuous? Time limits on how long you can be in labor? Do they push medication or don't use pressure like that?
Any information you have would be appreciated greatly!

wow! what a coincidence. my wife is going to give birth there too. small world, eh?

in fact, maybe you and i could get together sometime and discuss where the kids are going to be born, where they're going to go to school, where they were conceived, etc. then, maybe i can take you out for ice cream. i'm sure my wife wouldn't mind...

now, for the rest of you that are about to add me to your ignore list, this is my wife. give her a big welcome to the utah forum, por favor!

love you acushla. aaron out.

thanks. i honestly don't remember anything being wrong with my head this week, though obviously one of the signs of traumatic brain injuries is memory loss...

Mierva -
What a pretty name! How did you come up with it. You need to come over to the Utah chat, where all the really cool Utahns hang out.

Congratulations on your new baby!
Rae

Hi Mierva!

Sorry I don't know anything about birthing in the hospitals now days, my youngest is 19, so I'm sure things have changed quite bit since then. At least I hope so!

I'll jump right in! I had all 4 of my kiddos at Mountain View Hospital, in Payson.
My youngest is almost 8, so don't know how relevant the info is.
In my experience, a lot depends on who your doctor is. I had 2 different docs and both were pretty flexible in meeting my expectations of delivery.
So, I would suggest talking to you doctor and then going to labor and delivery and talking to someone there. Lots could have changed in the last 8 years! Otherwise, for me it was a decent experience all 4 times.
