If there were no winter, it would just be a long drive. But, during the winter the drive can be really horrible in the areas around Park City, Kamas, Oakley, Heber, etc. I used to do a lot of backcountry skiing in the mountains east of Kamas. Although the road crews do a pretty decent job in the area, the weather often gets ahead of them. Some of my least favorite driving memories come from that area in the winter. During a blizzard or heavy snow, forget it!

But, you are right, it’s one of the most beautiful areas in Utah.

they need to make a trax line up to the park city area. just run it up along i80 or something. man that would save people so much money

Can any of you Kamas old timers tell me of a place that was historically called the "Grand Pass" in the Kamas Valley area? I think I know where it is but there is some confusion about it in some places I've read.
