We're kicking around the idea of possibly doing a national parks photo trek in that area in late March-early April, and were wondering how the weather and exploration opportunities were that time of year. Would probably fly into St. George and rent a car from there, so I'm more worried about road conditions than I would be if we had the time to drive out to there in our Outback.

I will be out that way too, but next summer. You might want to consider flying into Las Vegas, renting a car, and driving the 115 miles or so to St. George. When I did my research and found that flying into St. George would be considerably more expensive than Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. The only thing about SLC is that it is about 300 miles from St. George.

I think the weather would be really nice, with the exception of Bryce Canyon. St. George and Zion would probably be in the 70's or 80's since they are around 3000 feet. Bryce Canyon. 9000 feet, so it could still have issues with snow.

It's roughly $50 more per ticket to fly into St. George than Las Vegas going out of my home airport when I check. (no major discount airlines) So I'm figuring we might as well get as far as convenient before switching to car.

Arches should be gorgeous in the Spring -- and not too warm. It would be kind of out of the way if you were to fly into Las Vegas or St. George (Zion would be much closer), but it's a beautiful place to visit and photograph. It's about 5 hours from Salt Lake City, as I recall.
