My husband and I currently live in the Tahoe area and absolutely love it but CA is becoming unbearably expensive and the schools are not the greatest. We are considering moving to UT. My question is can anyone suggest a few mountain towns within an hour of SLC? A good school district is important. We want to be "in" the mountains, not just "within driving distance" to them.

Thanks so much!

Check out Alta-I know that they have their own school and you really can't get much more alpine than Alta is...

Park City. Excellent school system. Housing might be pricey - but compared to Tahoe? Such a deal.

I'll second Eden. You're 15 minutes away from the conveniences of Ogden but you're in a little mountain town (with it's own elementary and junior high school; grocery store; banks; post office and 3 great uncrowded ski resorts in your back yard)
