I used to live in Vancouver in the 90s for a few years and I think that it is one of the nicer places (on average) to live in terms of weather.

I grew up in the Midwest, lived on the East Coast, and currently live in Colorado (CO). To truly appreciate the mild weather in the Northwest, you have to live through a winter in the Midwest or a summer in the Southeast.

The long, drizzly and cloudy days can be quite depressing. Yet, I do recall playing golf in the winter. I just had to dig my plugged ball out the mud after each shot.

I hope this opinion helps a future North Westerner.

Aloha

I lived in Vancouver and the summers are very nice, comfortable, sunny, blue skies-however, the winters killed me. Rain, rain, rain. Grey, cloudy and rain. For those who claim they like the rain, this is a good place for you. For me, I personally would not move back.

Well isnt it like that in most states as far as being gloomy....I remember going to college in CT and rarely seeing the sun. I guess the major difference would be the rain.
