My husband and I have decided to move to Vancouver with our six year old son. We decided to take a risk and go for a place that we would love to live. We have lived in California most of our lives and for the past six years all we have been thinking about is leaving it. I have heard that people in Oregon do not like Californians. Is it the same in Vancouver? I am really concerned about this.

Vancouver is in WA. - Just change your license as soon as possible. When you talk about being from Calif emphasis FROM and act apologetic and keep you ex residence a secret that just you and your real estate agent knows or threat it like you might a ex spouse. - We all had to come from somewhere - Concerned no worries!!!

The people who matter won't care where you're from. And with our society becoming so transient, I personally don't see it as a big deal. Granted, I'm also gearing up for my second cross-country relocation so I might have a different slant on this issue than most.

Yes, some people have an issue with Californians moving into the area and, as they see it, "driving up the housing prices", but those are usually people who are just unhappy anyway and looking for someone to blame it on. Don't let it bother you too much. There's always someone who isn't going to like someone else for the silliest of reasons.

Years ago this may have been true but over the years we have had so many people move here from everywhere so us old time locals don't even pay attention any more.

No need to worry and our clients that have relocated here continue to enjoy it as their new home.
