^--- Yeah, That. Also south of NE 28th/Burton.

Actually the entire region is east of NE 112th and west of NE 138th but the particular subdivision we're both talking about falls roughly in the area you described.

(Not my idea of a 'home' neighborhood. YMMV)

Why? Please elaborate. I can think of worse ones [COUGHCOUGHCOUGHCASCADEPARKMOUNTAINVIEWCRESTLINEHER ITAGEVANMALLCOUGHCOUGHCOUGH].

Thanks. I am looking into Felida and Ridgefield as well. Felida is filled with some big, expensive homes though...not sure I want to spend that kind of money....and just not confident that I need something so large anymore.

Keep it small and ugly (the house...)

Taxes are very high and often use a $250+ / SF valuation, (I built mine for $48 / sf and am assessed @ $400/ SF) so... I rebuy my house every 6 yrs from the Tax Assessor.

ALWAYS visit the tax assessor BEFORE you buy. Homes across the street my be in a Tax District with lower Levy.

What you agree with on a price and spend on home, is NOT relevant to what the assessor values the property. (if you pay too little, they will claim you got a good deal, and still value your home where they see fit)

While I don't claim our taxes are cheap, Ridgefield property taxes are among the lowest in the county. Yes, they are creeping up, but remain one of the lowest rates.
