I'm not sure how often this happens. But I've been here less than two weeks and experienced some great thunderstorm with lighting shows. Then tonight we had an epic double rainbow over our house that last longer than any I've seen. It was at least an hour long! Here are a couple of pics.

Rainbows are very common with all the rain with partly sunny days we have. But those storms are very rare. Possibly the only ones you'll see the rest of the year.

Glad to hear your move went well and that you and the fam are settling in, Derek. Nice photos, as always!

Come to the Gorge and you will have MANY rainbows (Cape Horn, Mt Pleasant, Beacon Rock, and Stevenson / North Bonneville are fantastic). Great place to Golf 9 (with a view)... or Skamania Lodge or Carson Hot Springs. Nice bike trails at North Bonneville, good place for family scavenger hunts. (while watching rainbows).

Extremely rare here, especially west of the mountains.

I’m glad you finally made it. We’ve spent many years visiting family and friends in Van, Camas, Sandy, Oregon City, and Canby, and I really wanted to move up there, but I couldn’t take the weather. I wish I could. It’s beautiful there.

Yeah, we've been coming up here for decades. Its one of our favorite destinations from the rugged coastline to the beautiful cascade mountains to the rivers, lakes, the Sound, the Gorge, etc... And yes, the weather isn't as mild as CA. But we were really ready for a change, a new adventure. So this is a great one for us.
