EDIT: It is Rosauers. Longtime Eastern WA chain...this apparently their furthest west location. Yakima or Hood River the closest.
I know you live in Eastern Wa. Do you like them? Where are they on price and quality scales?

I think that none of the local NW chains like Fred Meyer or Safeway wanted to put locations in Ridgefield because they thought it would cannibalize their Salmon Creek and Battle Ground locations. They don't like to put stores too close together to compete against each other. So the developers had to find a chain from outside the area to come in. And now Fred Meyer and Safeway are getting their stores cannibalized anyway. Tough luck!

Well, they deserted my home area (Tri-Cities) decades ago. Current locations are Yakima, and of course their home, Spokane, as well as other smaller areas in the far E. WA/N. ID/MT area. They seem to be a very medium-priced grocery with a lot of the usual big supermarket services, but without all the frills you will find at a QFC or Yoke's (another Eastern WA chain). Prices are not Winco low, but more in the medium range.

personally, not yet a fan.. tried the place a few times (and in their defense, they've only been open since Dec. 7). The store itself is very pretty, but aisles are cramped. Quality seems to be lacking in some areas (produce); and many have complained about the prices- sales are great but regular prices on some things are absurd. For instance, they have a whole natural food section called huckleberrys and even a frozen item like "Amy's" (pick a dish) will be almost double the price of that at Fred Meyers in Salmon Creek. So far, they have not converted us..

I agree on pricing, but sometimes the convenience wins out. We are fans of Black Box Nighthawk Black wine for our everyday wine. It is $15.99 at FM, and $19.99 at Rosaer's. almost 25% higher! I am pretty impressed by their butcher counter, even though I have not bought meat there yet. Produce section is small, but convenient when I need a couple of things. I wish they had more cart returns in the parking lot. I can't yet figure out why some stuff is in the Huckleberry's section when it really should be in the regular grocery section....for example....I thought they did not carry King Arthur Flour (in every other store it is with the flour), then accidentally noticed it is with the flour in Huckleberry's. Overall, I am pleased we finally have a local store, but I plan to still use our two markets downtown.
