Hello, I'm an International student who is going to Vancouver in August for University. However, my university doesn't have residences and I don't want to live in a homestay. I'd like to rent (long-term) a 2-bedroom apartment around $500-$1600 rent per month in the downtown area or somewhere around Kits. I've already tried craigslist and many more websites and I can't find anything. I'd really appreciate some help in this.

I'll be arriving in Vancouver around the second week of August to rent the apartment and get settled in. It wouldn't matter to me if I had to buy my own furniture, although it'd be nice to get a furnished apartment at that price range.

Thanks in advance!

Craigslist seems to list many apartments under $1600 per month..
vancouver, BC apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist

Maybe
some one from Vancouver can guide you to some of the better neighborhoods that are easily accessible to the school you will be attending.

Welcome to the forum and good luck eh!.

Are you looking for a two bedroom for yourself or are you planning on staying with a roommate? Because real estate in those areas is expensive, it might not be worth it to have more than one bedroom if you're living alone. I might have some tips for you, I'm looking for a place myself at the moment because I'll be going to UBC in September and I've already been out to BC (for my interviews) and know the neighbourhoods. What University will you be going to?
