Looks like myself and the gf may be moving to Canada next year from Australia, on a 2 year working holiday visa.

Looking to stay somewhere for 3-6 months(maybe longer) at a time. Was thinking Vancouver as it seems like a nice place to start off . And best of all I can still go fishing there!

What part of Vancouver would be best to live (assuming we get jobs and work full time)? We are in our early-mid twenties.

What would be the best place to look for said accommodation and jobs? i.e any other websites.

Are there many jobs going in Vancouver at the moment?

Thanks for all the help , just planning well in advance!

Well, not sure of what the job situation is like in Vancouver, but if it's anything like it is in the interior of BC, all I can say is I wish you the very best of luck finding a job. I'm not trying to discourage you from moving here, BC is a very beautiful place to live.

Just as an example, my friend is a 4 year apprenticed certified heavy duty mechanic. He and his wife moved here from the Manitoba and every where he went he could not find a mechanic job. All of the places he went in to apply for said they were actually laying off (a sort of temporary suspension of work of sorts) employees. What is really in demand over here are professional drivers...

Well I'm in marketings and the gf is admin currently. I think we are just planning on working in any industry we can. Hopefully we will be able to save enough prior to not work the full time we are there

Maybe starting off in another area of canada might be a better option?
