Do you use Vegenaise? The stores near where I live only stock the original Vegenaise, and I would like to try some of the other varieties.
In doing a little research I was surprised to learn that Vegenaise has been around since the early '70's, long before most vegan and vegetarian products.
I know many people who aren't meat-free who use Vegenaise rather than mayo for health reasons, or because they prefer the taste.
I have used it and found it to be an acceptable substitute for mayonnaise. It took some getting use to, I'll admit. But I have found it hard to find living in central Virginia. I've moved, so maybe it will be easier to find.
I have tried to cultivate a taste for mustard since it is normally much lower in calories & fat.
I've never tried it, but I also don't eat regular mayo. The thought of both makes me feel a little ill; I've never used mayo in anything I've actually eaten. I do use mayo in recipes for others, but not for myself.
I use it on sandwiches. Nayonaise is another mayonnaise-substitute product, but it needs refrigeration only after you open it. Vegenaise is kept refrigerated at all times.

Use it ALL THE TIME! So much better than Nayonaise which just does not do it for me.
I also know non - vegetarians who use it for cholesterol restricted diets. My dad is one and he is very happy that I introduced him to this.
He does not eat red meat, chicken (for sanitary reasons) pork - health reasons.
And rarely cheese or milk.
The only things left are fish and turkey - only on Holidays. He loves Tofu and seitan also.
My dad has outlived his own father by thirty years. He also enjoys Daiya. And he's 83.
My Southwestern Pasta Salad with Vegenaise always tastes delicious (in my opinion anyhow)!
Shhhhh... save it for the book!
