Has anyone found an edible meatless ham? Can you tell me what brand? For some reason just thought of my mothers orange pineapple sauce on ham from when I was a kid and would love to have it again.
The whole tofurkys have a turkey-like stuffing in them so I don't know how those whole ones would work with a pineapple glaze??!! Perhaps use a quorn roast to glaze??
Yes there is such a thing but may not be available commercially. One our favorite local vegan/vegetarian restaurants has several dishes featuring meatless ham and it is not lunchmeat...tastes just like ham. They make their own tofu and meatless ham...I believe it is tofu based. It is smoky and delicious which means it probably has liquid smoke in it or perhaps they put it in a smoker. A local restaurant smokes several of their soups....really good. There are on line recipes for meatless and or tofu ham.
I saw fake ham at Whole Foods here in Tampa, in the holiday section with the other holiday fake turkey (Gardein, Field Roast, Tofurky). I don't know if it is any good.

Yeah, I don't really want deli slices and I eat Tofurky, it doesn't taste like I can use that as a replacement. Kind of grosses me out, the thought of it, lol.

The thought of ham just seems so gross to me that I don't know that I would want to eat anything that resembled it, even if it was vegan. But that's just me, I realize others might enjoy it.
I bet orange pineapple sauce would taste great on slices that hard, dry nigari tofu, fried very crisp in oil with maybe stir-fried green peppers & onions. And rice.
